Professor Díaz Portillo is a graduate in Ethnohistory of Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia. He has taught BA courses at Facultad de Artes y Diseño (FAD, UNAM, Taxco campus) and the ENAH (Cuicuilco), as well as High school courses at Colegio Miguel Ángel de Taxco A.C.
He was Head of Department at Taxco´s Museo de Arte Virreinal (E.P.B.S.) run by the Ministry of Culture of Guerrero State and has worked as a cataloguer Palaeographer during the cataloguing project of the Vicereagal Indifferent Fund of the Archivo General de la Nación (AGN).
He has participated in various academic events such as lectures and readings. His area of specialization is Taxco´s mining ethno-history. He is a professor in the Culture Department of CEPE, UNAM, Taxco campus.
