José Carlos Escobar Hernández

Doctor Escobar Hernandez is a BA graduate in English Literature of Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (UNAM), a MA in Antropología Filosófica (Universidad del Tepeyac) and a PhD in Education (Instituto de Estudios Universitarios, Puebla).
He has been a copyeditor at Harper & Row Latinoamericana, México (1979-1982), a scriptwriter and producer of English courses at Unidad de Televisión Educativa, SEP (1983-1985). He was an English teacher at the Languages Department of Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Tlaxcala (1985-1987) and a Spanish teacher for foreign students since 1986 up to date. He was the Head of the Spanish department at UNAM´s Extension School in San Antonio, Texas (1988-1995) and Academic Secretary and founder of UNAM´s Extension School in Los Ángeles, California (2005-2009).
He is co-author of several textbooks of CEPE-UNAM and author of several materials intended for the development of reading comprehension, writing skills and vocabulary learning. His main lines of work and research are: traductology, lexicology, interculturality and compared linguistics.
